Inspired by water lilies, this work reflects on the unseen effort behind growth
and achievement. While only the floating leaves are visible on the surface,
an extensive network of roots and stems lies beneath the water, reaching
towards light. The golden forms celebrate the value of this hidden journey,
while the mirrored composition echoes the relationship between what is seen
and what remains unseen.
A tree trunk often appears strong, fixed, and impermeable, yet beneath its
surface a continuous flow of water sustains every branch, leaf, and fruit.
Inspired by this hidden movement, the work uses transparent, veil-like forms
to visualise the journey of water through the body of a tree, revealing the
delicate systems that exist within seemingly solid structures
Photographed on the surface of cut tree stumps, these organic formations
reveal nature’s ability to regenerate and transform. What appears disconnected
and lifeless becomes the foundation for new growth, as fungi emerge and
create unexpected forms that resemble shells, corals, or living sculptures.

What first appeared to be a weathered rock was, in
fact, an exposed section of root and trunk resting on
the forest floor. Though separated from the tree, it
remained a living structure, supporting new growth
and creating space for other forms of life. The work
celebrates nature’s resilience and its remarkable

abandoned or broken

resemble worn fabric, wrappings, or ancient garments. The work highlights the

of torn advertisements and rusted staples, this work
transforms an everyday urban detail into a symbolic
battlefield. Fragments of paper resemble forgotten
banners, while metal traces evoke weapons left behind,
reflecting themes of conflict, memory, and resilience.
